Maple Holistics

Tea Tree Please.....
A little over a month ago, Maple Holistics, a company that specializes in natural and holistic bath and body products, reached out to me because they wanted me to try their Tea Tree Oil shampoo. Well, I'm always down to try out new products, so that I can give recommendations to my readers if warranted. I wanted to be fair and give it a real review by testing it out over several washes, so it took me about a month to fully test it. For my non-African-American readers, I have relaxed, coarse hair, so I don't wash my hair more than once a week. Our hair is just not set up that way. Some people go longer than that, but the way my build up is set up, I cannot go longer than a week without a wash. So needless to say, it took me approximately a month to use this shampoo four times.
I was a little skeptical to use this shampoo by itself (because build up), so I used this as the last step in my shampoo process. My hair is washed at a salon every week because I can't be bothered to wash and style this mane every week. In other words, I can't tell you which shampoo my stylist uses nor would she probably want me to tell you that trade secret. But after she washes my hair once or twice with HER shampoo, I had her wash my hair once or twice with Maple's Tea Tree Oil shampoo. My first impression when she first used the tea tree shampoo was that it felt good on the scalp. It has a cooling effect on the scalp, which I found really nice. So far so good. Only time would tell if it would actually make a difference in the condition of my hair.
Four Week Check Up
I did notice that my scalp was not as dry as it normally is after the first two washes. I have dry scalp, so it didn't completely relieve it (although they do make an anti-dandruff shampoo that may be better for that), but it did give my hair the same effect as a hot oil treatment. Hot oil treatments do not typically treat dry scalp but they do help to minimize it and they leave the scalp feeling extra moisturized. It's subtle, but effective. This shampoo gives the same effect, but it's nice because you don't have to do this as a separate step. With hot oil treatments, you would let the oil sit on the hair or under the dryer for 15-20 minutes after the shampoo, then rinse again. But with this product, you would just use this as an extra shampoo step. You can even use this to replace your shampoo altogether. And as I mentioned earlier, I have dry skin period. So if you don't have this issue, the effect this has on your hair could be even more impactful. The shampoo is made with jojoba oil, argan oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil and of course tea tree oil. I'm loving the all natural ingredients, so if you're super picky about the ingredients you put in your hair, I would recommend you give this a try. Click here to purchase. The shampoo is only $8.95, so it's minimal risk.
There are also a host of other products I want to try from Maple Holistics. I love companies that offer holistic alternatives for the types of products we love and use everyday. We put enough chemical laced products in and outside of our bodies daily, so any opportunity to replace those practices with a natural one is appealing. The Almond Oil is really calling my name. I love a good body oil because I'm lazy and oils are easier to apply. Don't judge me. I can feel you doing it. Click here to check out their website with their full list of products.
Maple Holistics would also like to send you a free sample of any product you choose. For your free sample, click here!
