Summer Style - The Linen Jumpsuit

Whew. This hot weather has been kicking my behind all across the country. It’s hot in Texas. It’s hot in DC. It’s hot in NYC. Is there any place not sweltering right now? We’re in the thick of summer, which means I have to strategically plan outfits that won’t give me a heatstroke as soon as I leave the house. One of my favorite go to pieces this season has been this tan linen jumpsuit I picked up from Target months ago. And yes, it’s another Who What Wear X Target piece. Get into it.

How I rocked it?

Linen is a good conductor of heat, so clothing made in this fabric is a good choice, especially if you’re trying to look chic. The one featured in this look is rather loose, so it’s nice and breathable. The light tan color, as oppose to darker colors, will also help you resist the heat as much as possible. I’m also rather fond of this piece because it’s versatile enough to be dressed up with heels, or down with a pair of sneakers. You can also keep this piece out as you transition your wardrobe to fall, as it’s perfect for layering with an oversized sweater, cardigan, or leather jacket. I’m trying to emphasize the art of getting the most use out of your clothing. Almost everything in our closet can be worn in multiple ways. Dresses can be layered and used as skirts or tops. Jumpsuits can be used as pants. Rompers can be used as tops. It’s a little harder to transition winter items into spring, but it’s exponentially easier to transition summer pieces to fall because of the layering factor.

For this specific look, I chose to keep the look bright and airy, so I paired it with my white tie up sandals from ASOS. These shoes are still available and extremely comfortable. If you haven’t tried the white shoe trend, this is a pair that gives you three trends in one. It’s a toe sandal (1), with a PVC clear strap (2), and it’s white (3). I opted for white to keep a light monochromatic look. A darker shoe would have chopped this look up, which was not the vibe I was going for. Although I’m currently loving neutrals and monochromatic looks, I have to be careful not to look too washed out. An easy fix is to finish the look with bold colored accessories. I chose a pretty teal colored fringe style to give the look a pop. Problem solved. Let me know how you like the look below. I will link everything in this look below.
